Follow the trail, not the ant
The ants on the counter are the workers. Spraying them clears the counter for an afternoon and does nothing to the nest, which sends out the next shift. The ocular is about following the trails back to where they come from: a crack in the wall, a gap in a window frame, a nest under the path or in a pot.
Baiting
The species decides the bait. Sugar ants take a sweet gel, others take a protein or a granular bait, and the point of all of them is the same: the workers carry it back and the nest takes it. Combined with a residual treatment on the entry points and the perimeter, the trails stop and stay stopped.
Ants or termites?
Half the termite calls we get are ants, and a few of the ant calls are termites. If the insects are pale, soft and hiding in mud tubes, that is termite work. If in doubt, send a photo with your quote request and we will tell you which.
